CLOSEOUT TRADE
BLENDED COVERED CALL POSITION HAS BEEN CLOSED OUTCLOSED
A “blended” trade refers to a situation where I initially purchased shares of a stock or ETF, and as the price declined, I chose not to average down by buying more shares. Instead, I purchased deep in-the-money LEAPS call options (typically with a 0.98 delta or higher) to closely mimic stock ownership. By using this approach and applying the proper calculations, I was able to lower my overall cost basis more efficiently compared to simply buying additional shares.

WINNER$12,190.009.06%
Today I CLOSED this Covered Call position on (DPST)
I decided that with the $135,000 invested I could use this money by next week to make the -$1,625 in TIME VALUE buy back that this final trade cost ... the total trade made money but the buy back cost me money and the TV cost was -$1,625 ... so there is the question, can I make $1,625 by NEXT week with $135,000? and yes answers that question so we buy back and close out. Selling shares and LEAPS for a total profit.
This overall trade makes $12,190.00 in Covered Call Premiums | Share & LEAPS trades closeouts which combined for the total return being this amount. . This would represent 9.06% on money invested. The final trade closeout = $4,900 will be applied to this month... the other profit was posted when those trades closed.

Because this is in my non-taxable account I'm just going to use the premium to build the account size to make more premium versus buying dividend paying funds will save that for all my taxable accounts and with no tax implications we're not going to put any money in the tax bucket either

WHY I CLOSED this PMCC Trade on > DPST
simple buy back as the stock has fallen, we can pocket the premium and now will look to use the time remaining on this option for the next option, will roll out to next week if the numbers work out in my favor. > the stock has fallen such that this option is down -71.43% which means we will use TIME to our advantage and close this trade, taking risk off the table and now have cash back in the account to make another trade >
Details of the option buyback
The option has fallen such that it's down some -56.67% at the time of this buyback and with (3) day left.

REASONING FOR ROLLING THIS MONEY VS JUST SITTING (FINAL)
WHY I OPENED this PMCC Trade on > Direxion Daily Regional Banks Bull 3X ETF (DPST)
This trade on DPST starts out as a > (18) day trade where Im trying to capture anywhere from 3% - 5% for a monthly Covered Call Trade. This trade will make $4160 dollars which represents 3.09% premium profit on money invested. Should my shares be taken I could make more, break even of lose money based on where my LEAPS Call Option is priced (see below for those calculations)
Further commentary and feelings on this trade
DPST (3x Leverage ETF to the Regional Banks) > feeling that I could take $1,600 off the board for this week and then roll this out two weeks, because I'm not fearful of holding this position, as DPST is held up during this war where it's trading as low as $88 to $92. All I needed to do was keep trading in this range and slowly edge higher, like it is today, being up 2.4%. I'm comfortable with this trade. We're going to stick with it as it keeps generating weekly cash flow. This trade, if they take my shares, will have made me $13,696, even with a share loss of $3,500.
With this new Strike Price, what is the projected LEAPS Value?
If this trades ends as its projected, I will make money where my LEAPS Call Options will be profitable but my Shares will be sold as a loss. This is calculated and expected and the hopes is that I break even and make my money on the CC premiums.

WHAT IF YOUR SHARES ARE TAKEN? (CLOSEOUT LEAPS SOLD)
If my shares are called away, it means the stock has risen above my $103 strike price. In that case, I will keep the $1.75 covered call premium and sell both my stock and LEAPS call option as planned. This SHOULD results in a break-even with the stock and LEAPS or a small profit. This is the expectation. (lose money on stock/make money on LEAPS)

With this new Strike Price, what ould be the result if shares taken?
If this trades ends as its projected, I will make money where my LEAPS Call Options will be profitable but my Shares will be sold as a loss. This is calculated and expected and the hopes is that I break even and make my money on the CC premiums.
> as with every trade, I will manage this trade as it approaches expiration ... buying back the option if it adheres to my -50% and 0.10 cent guidelines. -50% guideline being, such this option price fall 50% or more in the first 2 weeks I will buy back and look to roll the option - if the this option falls to 0.10 or less (in most cases) I will buy back the option and roll it for another credit if it presents itself.
GOLDEN RULES OF COVERED CALL WRITING (AVOIDING EARNINGS)
WILL THEY HAVE EARNINGS?Verify-DPSTNO
Try to avoid Earnings Reports > Earnings can be a stocks most volitile moment so its important to try to avoid writing a covered call thru or near earnings. Even great stocks can move +/- 10% on earnings
GOLDEN RULES OF COVERED CALL WRITING (DIVIDEND EX-DATE)
WILL COMPANY HAVE AN EX-DATEVerify-DPSTNO
Try to avoid EX-Dates > Companies that have dividends will trade differently in and around its EX-Date ... keep this in mind when writing a covered call as you might have your shares taken if its profitable for the Call Buyer.
