| CLOSEOUT TRADE | |||||||||
| BLENDED COVERED CALL POSITION HAS BEEN CLOSED OUT | CLOSED | ||||||||
| A “blended” trade refers to a situation where I initially purchased shares of a stock or ETF, and as the price declined, I chose not to average down by buying more shares. Instead, I purchased deep in-the-money LEAPS call options (typically with a 0.98 delta or higher) to closely mimic stock ownership. By using this approach and applying the proper calculations, I was able to lower my overall cost basis more efficiently compared to simply buying additional shares. | |||||||||

| BLENDED CLOSE OUT | |||||||||
| DETAILS FOR THIS COVERED CALL TRADE | |||||||||
| Today, this blended trade was closed: selling shares and LEAPS | |||||||||
| Today I decided to end this blended trade by buying back my near term covered call and immediately selling my LEAPS Call Options and shares. This closes out both positions, the shares losing money and the LEAPS Call Options gaining money and if any premiums were made they are accounted in the final return. | |||||||||
| COMMENTARY AS TO WHY I ENDED THIS TRADE | |||||||||
| WHY I CLOSED this Blended Trade on > NAIL | |||||||||
| Wow, since opening this trade on May-5 its been nothing but UNDER WATER and having shares that were in drawdown, we used LEAPS call options to shore up the position and allowing us to do bigger covered calls ... were out, 100% making a profit and not too bad too, 7.74% since May-5 | |||||||||
| HOW MANY COVERED CALLS DID I DO AND THE PREMIUM ? | |||||||||

| This blended trade brings together shares and deep ITM LEAPS Call Options to reduce my cost basis to a manageable position so I can exit the trade sooner. The idea is to break even on the shares/LEAPS and profit from the premiums I've collected along the way. | |||||||||

| SUMMARY OF THE TRADE - CCW + STOCK/LEAPS | |||||||||
| SUMMARY | |||||||||
| CLOSEOUT TOTALS / BREAKDOWN BY STEP | |||||||||
| This trade begins with my buying shares of NAIL at $43.41 and doing a ITM Covered Call with a strike price of $. The stock falls and continues to fall so I decide to ADD to this trade to reduce my cost basis, allowing me to exit the trade early so I begin buying ITM LEAPS Call Options. Once I determined what the combined LEAPS Strike+Cost was (this equals a share price for the stock) I would then craft Covered Calls with the newly obtained 'combined share/LEAPS cost basis' and can then select near term covered call strike prices to exit ALL trades at break even. | |||||||||

| LETTING MONEY BUILD THE ACCOUNT SIZE | |||||||||
| Because this is in my non-taxable account I'm just going to use the premium to build the account size to make more premium versus buying dividend paying funds will save that for all my taxable accounts and with no tax implications we're not going to put any money in the tax bucket either | |||||||||
